Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: Please mark your calendars for the upcoming Week of Prayer for Christian Unity running January 22-26, 2018. The theme is: “Your Right Hand, O Lord, Glorious in Power” based on Exodus 15:6. As always, we will host noonday services (12:00 p.m.) with guest preachers from our community, followed by a sandwich lunch served in the lower hall at 12:35 p.m. A free will offering will be taken at each lunch and the proceeds will go to benefit a local charity.
This is our second year of teaming up with Evangel Community Church. Our weekday services will be held as usual at First Presbyterian Church. We will also be gathering at City Hall on Friday, Jan 26 at 7.00 p.m. to pray for the well-being of our community, and for unity among Christians.
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will wrap up on Sunday, January 28 with a service at First Presbyterian at 2 p.m. Our guest speaker will be Pastor Chris Couper of Evangel Community Church. As well, everyone is invited to Evangel Community Church later that evening at 6.00 p.m. for an evening of praise and music.
We hope that many of you will join us at our weekday services at noon and on the concert at Evangel on Sunday evening. This is after all, an event that FPC been hosting for over 90 years. It is important to join together with other Christians, and to set aside our denominational differences for the good of the church, and the world, at large. We would love to see you during this important event.
