Dollars and Saints: Jesus taught that “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Or as a good friend and mentor put it, people may give their hearts to Jesus, but rarely their wallets! This is a tension almost all Christians must wrestle with, and it is worth looking into the reasons for why Jesus was so specific about our allegiance to money.
